The Alec Flores Youth Sports Scholarship Corporation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization established in Alec’s memory to provide scholarships for youth participation in athletics. Anyone who met Alec knew that he loved, and lived for, wrestling and football; the challenge, triumph, the friendships and community. The purpose of this organization is to celebrate his love of sports, recognizing the positive impact youth athletics had on his life while helping provide the similar opportunities for others.

The organization will:

 

• Fundraise for scholarships for youth athletes from recreational play through collegiate sports with some portion of support for young athletes with exceptional need due to financial challenges, disabilities, medical conditions, or other obstacles to participating in sports; students excelling in academics as well as athletics; and athletes competing at higher levels needing assistance with related expenses

• Hold an annual memorial fundraiser in Alec's name

• Participate in advocacy activities for youth sports
